I am considering doing a Greek list. The Bosporan list with the Skythian ally General kind of struck some interest with me. The ability to have the spear wall with some pretty nasty cav I think is a interesting combo for the greeks. So im looking for some comments/critique of the following list.

CinC as Reg B, HI, LTS, SH
+1E Reg B, HI, LTS, SH
+2E Reg B, MI, LTS, SH

(5X) Hoplites 6E Reg C, MI, LTS, SH

Hoplite 6E Reg D, MI, LTS, SH

(2X) Javilinmen 4E, Reg C, LI, JLS, SH

Javilinmen 2E, Reg C, LI, JLS, SH

S,T,M Javilinmen 6E, Irr C, LI, JLS, SH

S,T,M Archers 6E, Irr C, LI, B

Skythian Ally as Irr B, HC, JLS, B, SH
+1E Noble Irr B, HC, JLS, B

Nobles 2E Irr B, HC, JLS, B, 1/2 SH

Nobles 4E Irr B, HC, JLS, B, 1/2 SH

Skirmishers 6E Irr C, LC, JLS, B, 1/2 SH

(2X) Skirmishers 4E Irr C, LC, JLS, B, 1/2 SH

1600 POINTS
2 COMMANDS
18 UNITS
61 SCOUTING POINTS

Thanks in advance for any comments and such

I like this army and have enjoyed using it in social games - I prefer more D grade hoplites and for my Skyths to be HC, L, B. Overall it is lots of fun.

If you want to take hoplites with some Skyths it is probably the best way to go. If you want to take Skyths with some Hoplites then Skythian but with Greek Mercenaries probably works better.

what are the 'b" grade hoplites in the generals units? From my memory of reading the list none of the various options to upgrade hoplites to "b" would apply to a bosporan army? It is a good hoplite option though. I would perhaps consider going without the skythian ally and limit myself to 20 elements of skythian

Here is the list I used in the Theme at Historicon this year:

C-in-C + 3 MI, LTS, Sh

4x Hoplites 6E MI, LTS, Sh

2x Peltasts 4E LMI, JLS, Sh

2x Javelinmen 4E LI, JLS, Sh

Skythian Ally + 5 HC, JLS, B, Sh

5x Nobles 2E HC, JLS, B, Sh

3x Skirmishers 4E LC, B, 1/2 JLS, Sh

Maotian LI 6E LI, JLS, Sh

Bowmen 4E LI, B

This list gives you some rough terrain troups for the terrain your opponents will throw at you. It worked well for me. Smile
