The most recent game that I played in, I had a strange occurance in the last round of combat. I had charged my knight unit into the right flank of a unit of spearmen whose left flank was resting on a major water feature. Unfortunately, the unit of spearmen was 12E, and I didn't do quite enough damage to do one per. But, I got to wondering, what would have happened if I had? Would I have pushed them into the river thus possibly shaking or breaking them, or would they move laterally to the river such that I would then be in front of the spearmen? I really had no clue, so I suppose my question is, in general, what happens if a unit would be forced to cross uncrossable terrain for that unit, or is that even possible? And if not, what would happen instead? |

This would be as for any other type of failing to recoil fully (ie meeting another unit that can't be interpenetrated). It is a cause for disorder.

A body called upon to recoil that cannot recoil fully recoils as much as it can and becomes disordered.
