This is Ed Bernard's hard work. He even used this list in a tournament a few years ago. Iteresting as an X-rule type list. I have also put it in as an attachment so you can open it up and look at it more cleanly. Thanks to Ed for all his hard work.

This list covers armies of the Hawaiian Islands from the time the Tahitians subdued and enslaved the more primitive inhabitants, until their contact with Captain James Cook. With the absence of metal ores on the islands, the Hawaiians relied on the indigenous hardwood kuaila to manufacture weapons. This wood is so heavy that it sinks in water. Ihe were wooden spears whose lengths varied from six to nine feet. Pololu were pikes between 12 and 16 feet in length. Cook’s observations of the pololu-armed soldiers describe them as similar to the Greek phalanx. The La’au Palau was a one-handed club approximately 18 inches in length. The 2HCW represent the Shark tooth encrusted war clubs used by leaders and the executioners. The Sh classification allows for the javelin-catching and martial arts style of blocking that was practiced by most adult males. It is limited to Generals and Bodyguard elements due to the unusual reason for counting shielded. A typical Hawaiian battle began with volleys of sling stones hurled by Ma’a Skirmishers either from ambush or in the front line. Next, the Ihe Skirmishers threw their javelins. Then, a series of charges and hand-to-hand combat ensued on the flanks while the pikemen held the center awaiting the final decisive charge. Deception, ambushes and flank attacks were typical tactics used in battle. Women often joined their husbands in battle, while the children and the elderly sought refuge behind the protection of the palisades. The ultimate insult in early Hawaiian culture was the capture of one or more people by a rival clan who used the victims as the main course in a rare cannibalistic ritual. The vengeance loosed by the victim’s family was, at times, both violent and intense. Thus the option for a small group of LMI to be Irr A. JLS can be used in conjunction with 1HCW.
