There's a couple of lines in the Ming list which are causing me some confusion.

Oriental Warrior List#43, page 73
Line 9
"Ming Swordsmen/Spearmen Reg D or Irr C MI LTS or 1HCW..."
there's then a line to replace 1HCW with 2HCT, later lines to make them Reg C and HI...

My confusion stems from Line 12,
"Extra to give entire Ming Spearmen unit 'Fire Lance' incendiary..."

So, what are the spearmen? The Swordsmen/Spearmen lump line would suggest that any of those fellahs are Swordsmen/Spearmen...the order of the LTS and the 1HCW weapon on Line 9 suggests that the LTS are the Swordsmen and the 1HCW are the Spearmen!

Common sense would suggest that the LTS are the spearmen...but they're not separated out. Other Chinese lists have these two troop types on separate lines with split requirements.

You see, of course, I want to give HI 2HCT,Sh fire lance...and the fire lance rules themselves don't prohibit that...but common sense reading of the Ming would seem to.

What's specifically intended here?

You can't do what you've stated you want to do.

If you want fire lance, it's gotta be with LTS-equipped troops.
