in a recent game my timurid LHI infantry was struck in the flank by alexandrian companion cavalry which was met requirements to breakthrough. my opponent insisted that 11.223 which states that "a breakthrough move must always be made through the front or rear faces of a body and never from flank-to-flank" allowed him to enter from the flank and exit from the rear of my infantry unit. i interpreted the rule to mean that a breakthrough was not allowed from the flank at all. who was correct.
