Scott asked for Tibetans...here they are...

Notes:
Tibetans do get efficient shielded SHC, but they can't be camel or elephant proof so you have to 'be careful'.

CinC w/PA in Irr B SHC/EHC L,B,Sh/L,B unit 187
Sub w/P in Irr B SHC/EHC L,B,Sh/L,B unit 127
3 units of 2E Irr B SHC/MC L,B,Sh/L,B 297
2E Irr B HC/MC L,B,Sh/L,B 73
6E Irr C LC JLS,B,Sh/B 91
6E Irr C LC B 73
8E Irr C LI B,Sh/B 65

Nanzhao Ally w/P in Reg A/B HC/MC JLS,CB,Sh/CB 134
6E Reg B LMI LTS,Sh/LTS 118
8E Reg C LMI LTS,Sh/LTS 122
8E Reg C MI LTS,Sh/LTS 122
6E Irr A LMI JLS,Sh 115
2 units of 4E Reg C LI B,Sh/B 76
1600 pts, 3 cmds, 16 units, 53 scouting

I live dangerously here with MC back ranks for 3 of the SHC units. The Nanzhao ally is a look at a way to have rough/difficult terrain troops (especially steep hills) and an anti-elephant unit.

Look at deploying the Sub first, as a lone unit command under Wait orders.

I care about my opponent having elephants because.....?

Okay, Timurid and Kushan currently gets em but remember the list restrictions haven't been finalized. I really don't want this tourney coming down to the fact that an army with El might throw everything out of whack.

The number of El is limited to 4 plus a CiC so its not that big of an advantage. The large infantry blocks that most armies have allow for mobile terrain against cav.

Man, I haven't seen Tibetans on the table in well over a decade.

I would be concerned, in the theme, of table coverage. Terry brough up before in one of my lists about the ability of the Mongols to pick up terrain.

I'm worried that the foot don't have bows to have any real "reach" for the army and that LI or a small unit of LC can hold them off for eternity.

I think I like the list more for open tournaments where you don't have to face as much cavalry.

Neat list Frank - thanks!

I would not worry so much about Mongol terrain-removal; I really do not expect to see Mongols. [Now of course there will be 17 Mongols...]

But I agree both with size worries - somewhat; Frank's list tries to alleviate that, and SHC in theme are I think going to be in one of the few contexts where they're very valuable Smile - and more, with concerns about how to combine the two parts of the army; the non-missile foot may have issues achieving anything unless there is well-placed terrain. The net resulting worry is that my LC might find themselves outnumbered and being too big to avoid trouble. I'd rather have a list focussed on SHC and foot - don't know whether the list allows this?

Here's a Tibetan list Derek ran at a Derekcon sometime back:

CnC + 3 EHC L B SH IB
+ 3 EHC L B IB 165

Sub + 3 sHC L B SH IB Blue
+ 3 MC L B IB 121

Sub + 3 sHC L B SH IB Red
+ 3 MC L B IB 121

Sub + 3 sHC L B SH IB Purple
+ 3 MC L B IB 121

4 SHC L B SH IB + 3 EHC L B IB 119

6 EHC L B 1/2 SH IB Red 91

6 EHC L B 1/2 SH IB Purple 91

6 EHC L B 1/2 SH IB Blue 91

6 EHC L B 1/2 SH IB Green 91

8 LC B IC Red 57

8 LC B IC Green 57

8 LC B IC Blue 57

6 MC L B IB 1/2 SH Purple 67

6 MC L B IB 1/2 SH Red 67

6 MC L B IB 1/2 SH Blue 67

6 MC L B IB 1/2 SH Green 67

16 MI LTS SH IC 73

16 MI LTS SH IC 73

1596 - 40 SHC points = 1556

Scouting 64
Units 18

The basic idea is to screen half the table with skirmishing LC while Lancing the other half with SHC then EHC then the MC cleans up.

I must admit, Mark's Uighur list with Tibetan allies looks really interesting.
