GM: Eric Turner

Friday:

Note the Thursday event. I penciled Eric in as GM mainly because I needed to put somebody in there. At the time I wasn't sure I'd be back for this "extra" day at Cold Wars. Now I will. That being said, I'd like to play in this event and would like to see as many folks as possible participate. Warrior Battles 1.4 is now up so you can download it and try to puzzle thru a few games.

Greg Hauser is looking for a partner for Doubles at Cold Wars. Post here or email him:

tbaratt2 at rochester.rr.com

(replace the "at" with an "@"--I'm doing this to avoid spambots picking up the addy and swamping Greg).

For doubles at Cold Wars 2010

5.11 is Reg B eager
6.11 close order move 120p

Sorry, can't find 6.2 and 17.1 on the X rules list or other locations. I should know this, but memory fails.

Me, a middle aged man (boy that hurts) who plays with little men looking for same. A bit onery, but know the rules (mostly). You, a warm body, to push figures and have a little fun.

Feel like I might be a little late in replying, but I need a partner at Cold Wars. Will contact Robert and Greg in case they have not gotten togeteher yet.

I can be contacted at sscott04@msn.com. Please put COld Wars in the header so I donīt delete.

The X Rules are posted. I just went to the FHE page and presto, there they are. I reprint two here as a public service. Smile

X 6.2 Close Order Marching. Steady Reg close order foot may march on march segment 3. Steady Irr loose foot may march on march segment 3 but take a fatigue point for doing so.

X 17.1. SHC Troop Cost. Subtract 8 points from the final cost of an SHC element. This applies to Reg and Irr elements.

17.1: cool. You'll see more SHC on the table than have been seen in a decade; my Sassanids will be jealous!

One thing that the rule doesn't currently cover is general's elements. Technically they should be 6 pts less. I can't remember if Phil Gardocki (he came up with this) intended generals' elements to be cheaper along these lines or not.

Opinions welcome.

I think that the 6pt reduction would be obvious, consistent, and altogether correct Smile.
