Hello Jon,

Could you please answer the following;

1) a Unit of LHI is on a steep hill when an enemy LC unit in column approaches onto the hill to within 40p of its flank. Does the LC unit still count as beyond difficult terrain for waver test purposes if they declare a charge?

2) A unit of LHI has an enemy LI, S unit at 100p to its front, with a unit of LCh directly behind it. The LHI wishes to retire. As the LCh are within 160p of them do they waver test, even though the LCh are neither known, nor visible to them at the time of testing?

Thanks, Raphael

1) If the LC element can move that 40p and contact the LHI without having crossed the part of the hill that is steep, then a waver. said another way, if the entire hill feature is steep, then no waver.

2) The LHI is in the LCh's charge reach as per 6.52 the interpenetration of the LI is legal. So, yes, a waver. Note known, etc are not part of that rule - its in charge reach or not.

Jon

Many Thanks,

That's how we played it, but I just wanted to be sure.

It wasn't a good day for the LHI, but better losing them than the legions!
