Instead of listing armies, restrictions and rules here, we've created a file that contains everything, including the army lists themselves.

You have to be logged in to be able to download the file.

Weighting:

All lists at 1600 points except the following:

BW 21 (Cypriot) and CW 9 (Oscan): 1760 pts
CW 5 (Illyrian), CW 8 (Saite Egyptian) and CW 21 (Gallic): 1680 pts
CW 15 (E Carthaginian): 1440 pts

If you have questions, please post them in this thread. We'll answer em and possibly update the file.

UPDATE:
CW List 4 – Etruscan

Late Period – Line 1 - Reduction to SG – insert “any Etruscan” after “downgrade” and before “Ally-general.”

CW List 8 – Saite Egyptian

Line 8 – Levy Bowmen - change “MI” to “MI/LMI”

CW List 9 – Oscan

Add a new line at the end to read as follows: “Extra to give any Javelinmen/Slingers Sh @ 2 pts ….. any”

Credit where credit is due:

Bill worked endlessly on these lists. He and Frank worked endlessly on matchups and number crunching in order to identify any outliers that would make the tourney a typical "one army" theme tourney. Derek provided the weighting.

We've had some great theme tourneys dating back to 07 now and next year's should be another good one.

First, thanks to everyone for the hard work.

For the Later Achaemenid Persians (CW18), the list notes refer to Bactrians and Indians, but there are none present in this new list. Obviously they were in the previous one, so I wonder if the reference is a relic that was overlooked.

I should stress that these aren't "new" lists per se, they've simply been modified for the Theme. Thus, instead of saying you can use the L Ach list can't include Bactrians and/or Indians, we simply left them out of the list and didn't bother to putz around with the list notes to reflect that.

We had a hard enough time getting this together. Cool

With the change to the spanish HTW rule - suprised that e-cartos are pointed so low.
5@7=30
8@4= 24 so narrow win against LTS, against Spartans or Thebans
5@7 =30
10@4=30
Thebans
5@7=30
12@4=36
Sure an up roll wins but it has to be up 2 tto route the unit on a one element frontage = and the Lts rolling up does just as well. Otherwise not sure the later Carthos are as good never mind better than the rest of the lists. Just curious as their big thing was the HTW - and that is no longer the big deal it was, hracians are probably better - as they get the same front rank roll, plus can quaify for barbarian foot rules getting them extra figures - cannot do the math here.
Overall though - cannot wait for the event, I am painting Hoplites, just vacillating over which one to use - more on the topic to follow.

Further to Scott's comment above, the Theme Lists as published should be regarded as a draft and subject to correction; we have already had pointed out to us a number of errors and discrepancies, and will make corrections/adjustments where appropriate.

Keep those comments/questions coming; some of them may get a result!

Please note that as of today, 3 April 2012, we've uploaded the latest (hopefully last) iteration of the Theme Lists.

Use these, not the previous version! Things have changed! This means you!

Can these lists be used in events other than the theme during historicon?

No.

Too many special things wrapped up in them specifically for the theme.

I reserve the right to have Bill change my mind. Smile

Note in the first post, we've posted 3 little bits of errata.

Todd Kaeser has put some photos of his Hoplite army in the Album section.

This is gonna be a great-looking theme.
