Hi Everybody
First post on the list.
I am a French Wargamer and discovered some weeks ago Warrior.
As an old 7th WRG player, I was happy to be able to revive the delights of this type of rules and I have pushed some old beards of my club, all old players of 7th WRG who do not appreciate the new systems of Ancient Medieval rules.
We have received the rules and army books and we had the first scenario this week end (Sassanids Vs Late Romans) and we faced a trouble between the QRS sheet available on this site and the rules QRS.
For HtoH and missile combat, how to consider Artillery crew? In one chart, it is in the same column as LI, in the other chart, same column as EL that is really different as factor.
I currently work on an Excel Chart to be used as Army builder.
I will post it soon as the V1 for your tests and comments.

dear Dominique
Let me be the first to greet you from the Form.
My name is Ed Kollmer.
I also started with 6th edition of WRG.
I still like the system and must admit that Warrior is
a GREAT rule system. I know that I am prejudice.
I will wait for someone who is more knowledgeable
about Artillery to answer your question. However,
I will watch for any response.
Again I appreciate your interest and look forward to
seeing more responses and questions from you.

Artillery defending should be listed in the same column as elephants, maybe there is a formatting error on one of the quick reference sheets.

There can be times where artillery defending should be using the factors from the MC/Tr column.
A. Artillery on carts
B. Artillery such as a bombard if it moved that bound.

Artillery shooting would use the artillery line, artillery in melee combat would fight as other foot as I remember. I think I left my rule book over at Steve's house.

What area of France are you in? Here in the US the players are in clumps around the country, one clump is here in north east Florida around the city of Fernandina Beach. Jacksonville is just that large suburb south of us where Derek lives. Smile

Good luck,

Jamie

Thanks Jamie!
Actually, I do have my Rule Book.
I started reading about Transports.
OMG.
I still don't quite understand it. I use Early Imperial Romans and they have Bolt Shooters on Carts. I am not sure how they will work.
However, I see what Dominique is talking about.
Shooting uses the MC/Tr Charts
But the Fighting uses the El/Tr column.
I will have to read it again ......maybe several times.
EdK
PS. Dominique I come from the Northeast part of USA around Boston, New York City, Albany NY. I belong to the northern cluster of players. And we are strong Allies of the Florida Cluster.

Welcome to Warrior!!!! Great system that plays much closer to historical tactics. Check out the fourhorsemenenterprises.com for the free copies of MesoAmerican lists and soon to be Africa Warrior. I think the Dark Ages lists are on the forum as well.

Todd

The infamous carroballista have a lot of fine details to remember, both advantages and disadvantages:

Overhead shooting in some circumstances
Visibility requirements for who can see them and who they see
Targeting priorities, often need a subgeneral with them to avoid shooting at a boring but close light infantry unit
Shot at and defend as MC/Tr
Marching around on bound 3 I think, they are pretty speedy
Move or shoot artillery
Ignore some forms of cover
Counts as shieldless shooting
360 shooting arc

THanks Todd for getting in on the thread.
Dominique! Todd is in my cluster in the Northeast(New England). Great Guy!!
Really Great Guy.
Did I say Really Great Guy.
Jamie Thanks for the
synopsis for the Bolt Shooters on carts.
I will put it with the War Dogs list you made up.
I actually used that at the games we had with Ewan in Schenectady.
I felt really knowledge when the question came up and I raised my
hand said "Jaime has this great synopsis on War Dogs." I pulled out
the paper.
Thanks for making me look important.
Ed the War Dog Handler.

Hi Everybody,

Thank you for all your information.
I can see that we have made a mistake in the factor calculation.

We are in north of FRANCE, in LILLE that is close to Belgium and 200kms north of PARIS

I post the EXCEL Chart in the Player AIDS category

Thanks

Woo hoo, new players!

Don't hesitate to post questions here. If me or Bill don't see them immediately, others, like Jamie here, will typically answer them and 9.9 times out of ten, get the answer right. Smile
