Very cool! I am assuming 1200 points here.

Nice job getting the LC out of the way - very difficult with irregular cavalry.

Not quite as hard as you think. Infantry moves first, so they open the gap. The Light Cavalry is keeping the enemy from exploiting the Infantries vulnerability. Next turn, advance the foot and close the gap.

You field the kerns as units of 1/2 2, 1/2 JLS instead paired units, one S and one JLS?

I field my Kerns as 1/2 S, 1/2 JLS, both Shielded, with slingers positioned to the front.
