Hello Gentlemen!
Rules book p 140 :
hoplite infantry rules : .... and fight additional figures in subsequent ranks when charging, countercharging ou pursuing where permitted by applicable list rules.
Could you please explain, we don't understand what that means.

| The text you note is an unnecessary holdover from the full lists, where some Greek Hoplites are permitted a few more figures fighting under certain circumstances from rear ranks. As an example, Spartiate Hoplites can fight a 3rd rank at half effect when charging, counter-charging or pursuing. |

| Similarly some hoplites fight 1/4 ranks for the 3rd through 6th ranks to reflect their success against the Spartans when fighting in very deep formations |
