Updated to reflect the year of each theme.

THE BRONZE AGE -- 2017
End date is 1001 BC so no L Hebrews, demi-god Assyrians, etc. Will be weighted.

28-Neo-Babylonian: Early Period. No LC. Assyrian Infantry Rules not in effect.

DOGS OF WAR -- 2018
Straight from the rules (14.82) except D Class threshold will be 45%, not 40%. If you purchase something like stakes, caltrops, etc., for a unit, the cost of those only count toward the 45% threshold if the unit is entirely "D".

TEUTONIC KNIGHTS -- 2019
Will definitely be weighted and we might tweak a couple of the lists.

Feudal Warrior:
1-Prussian
2-Lithanian/Samogitian
3-Feudal German
5-Early Pole
7-Early Russian
11-Med Scandinavian
19-Later Polish
20-Early Teuts
23-Post Mongol Russian
25-Holy Roman Imperial (Early only)
33-Late Teuts

Oriental Warrior:
35-Mongol

ELEPHANTS -- 2020
You have to field at least 8 elephants. There could be some weighting.

Classical Warrior:
23-Alex Imperial
24-Asiatic E Successor
25-Lysimachid
27-Seleucid
34-Later Carthaginian
35-Bactrian Greek
36-Numidian

Imperial Warrior:
10-Marian Roman (all listed elephants may be used)

Holy Warrior:
8-Ghaznavid

Oriental Warrior:
5-Early Vietnamese
7-Early Indian
18-Burmese
20-Champa
26-Khmer
31-Medieval Vietnamese
36-Sultanate of Delhi/Lodi Indian
41-Vijayanagara Indian

Yes, Crusades please.

I would also like to see at some point (realizing this is probably beyond 2019) an Oriental Bronze Age.

We just did a knight theme 2Hcon ago, with the Teutonic s a crusader theme would be 3 in 6 years too many knights
All the themes are awesome ideas, I'm looking forward to seeing how the new Teutonic lists work out. The Elephants idea looks to be the most fun. Hopefully it Will provide the most varied lists.

That's right, no Sassanids. Why? They can't field 8 elephants.

Boo effing hoo. Rolling Eyes

Just for fun, you should have a small prize for whoever's list puts the most elephant models on the table.

You could call the award 50 models of grey. Smile

In honor of the Biblical theme, I priced out a Midianite Arab army from Essex. Not including any shipping or possible discount, it came to almost $1400.00. Guess I'm not going to buy that army unless I hit a decent sized lottery!

Has anyone coalesced a list of potential "Dogs of War" armies?

command points and specials, like stakes, DO count, if the unit is entirely D. But it you upgrade one element to C then no.

Gee Phil, you asked this exact same question back in 2016 prior to the Cold Wars Mini Dogs tourney. Frank provided an answer that should get you pointed in the right direction:

http://www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=78858#78858

One potential change: I've said 45% instead of the 40% as stated in the rule book. My current thinking is to go with a straight 700pts of D class troops out of the 1600.
