We have confirmed that Ewan McNay will once again be judging the 9th annual NorthEast Warrior Championships at Council of Five Nations.
Council is a little earlier this year - September 23-25, 2016.
That means the Warrior tournament is all day on Saturday, September 24th.
Winner gets his (or her?) name engraved on the Council Cup trophy for all posterity to revere.
Here is what the trophy looks like:
Here is the list of previous winners:
Congratulations to Fred Stratton, the 2015 winner. We will have a new plaque engraved with his name in time for this year's event.
You might want to book your hotel room now:

We are giving the Warrior tournament more square footage this year, in anticipation of more of this prestigious crowd attending this year.

to get all your questions answered.
We hope to see Warrior devotees from all around the US this year. _________________ Schenectady Wargamers Association

Just want to remind everyone here that pre-registration for Council of Five Nations closes this coming Monday, September 19th. The convention starts on Friday, Sept 23rd, and we need time to process all the pre-regs.
You also save about 20% from the entry fee if you pre-register. For you Warrior players who only come for Saturday, pre-reg is $17, or $20 at the door. A ticket for the Warrior tournament is an additional $5. For those of you coming to play other games during the weekend, entry is $30 pre-reg, or $37 at the door.
We have received pre-regs from Gregory Hauser and Matt Kollmer.

Well, colour me impressed: I have been VERY remiss about beating the bushes, but the SWA folks are more than picking up the slack here!
Anyway: we will indeed convene again in nine days, on the 24th: I have several attendees from outside the usual mix, so my hopes are high for a good turnout. Usual format: 25mm, 1600 points. Bonus points (alas only in my head) if you bring a chariot army in keeping with next year's theme; because I hate Romans no bonus points for armies from this year's theme .
First chance to see my new casualty markers from Scott on the table!
As usual, bring ground cloths (and terrain if you like) if you have them. 3 rounds, finished at a reasonable hour, prizes and truly excellent company, great venue. |

Hector is mustering his units.....
The signal fires are lit and the Western Warriors are
assembling.
The War Horns are sounding.......
Chariot horses are neighing ......
A might host camps before the walls of Troy....

Will see what the home fires say - only a 6h30 drive each way - so doable - being out the following weekend may scupper it |

That alone is worth the trip.
Todd will also have some casualty markers. Once everybody sees how cool these are, you'll never want to go back to paper.
That and you can try out the latest Biblical Warrior lists which are now posted! Derek did some preliminary weighting but that was for the 2008 lists and you'll see we've upgraded a few things which could change that. Well, maybe not for an Open tourney.
