(that's the required MC elements, upgraded, but not all the way as they have a reserve role, not a line role)

(I don't make these elephant proof as they are not intended to operate near/around the elephants, rather on a flank or flank march. They're not camel proof because this list version has no camels...they would be camel proof if I ran some camels.)
2 units of 2 Irr C El JLS/JLS 210
(not great elephants, but what you have to work with...will need close support from infantry)
2 units of 6E Irr C MI LTS,JLS,D,Sh/LTS,JLS,D,Sh/B 242
(they could be Irr D, saving 48 points, but I intend to use them in an attacking role)

(key troops, against enemy mounted lancers these should seek to work alongside the elephants).

...that's 1407 (check my math) with 14 units in 2 commands and 32 scouting points.

1571...not much room left...perhaps reconsider Irr C upgrade for the spearmen to free up 48 points and buy a couple of LI units...I'd like to have more than 16 units here.

Anyway, don't forget that this army can place up to two six element segments of Stone Wall in the forward zone (15 points each such)...which is super helpful, particularly with so much loose order foot.

Solid...combining some troops that are often not on the same army.

Minor note...unless revised, the spearmen/bowmen who mix on Nubian Christian cannot mix morale classes...so they have to be all D or all C.

Stone walls 15

Much of what Frank says is true - the list has some real weaknesses but I have addressed them in different ways. I prefer the Jls,S,Sh combo (being an old Aztec player) I love the combo. LTS,B,Sh is also solid but with LHI costs more points. I have 6 units of shooters which can also fight in Hand to Hand.

The Stone walls can be useful, although I haven't figured them out entirely.

Fun army to play. I wish we'd see more of these types of fun armies and not just the same old armies trotted out.

These are both great lists. Are the Christian Nubians related to the Blemmye/ Nobades (IW-17)?

You'd want to read the list notes in both cases to see...African Warrior was an attempt to clean up and detail lists applicable in our system from Africa, which one might suggest was neglected in earlier Army List books.
