It was a mess of combats in the center. A unit routes. It is within 120 paces of a friendly unit but there is a unit in Crusader order between them. By the rules under visibility the unbroken unit cannot see the router.
But since a unit charged through the unit in Crusader order from behind it.
Wouldn't it make since for other units to be able to be able to see through the unit in Crusader order? |

My knee jerk reaction is to take the rules literally. Since the Crusader Order rules don't say that it otherwise changes the nature of the unit, then since it's unbroken, it blocks visibility per the rules.

I agree with all that. Then we started
thinking how a mounted unit not touching
the unit in Crusader could charge through
to a unit it could not see.
Now a mounted unit touching the crusader
unit could be assumed to be intermingled
With it and charge from the front of the unit
The problem arises when it is not touching
And charges through it at a unit it “can’t see”
Just a thought |

Our rules actually already account for this:
6.163 C
Visibility of Charge Targets. Charges may only be declared against visible targets (12.4). The only exception to this is a body that charges through a friendly body in a permissible interpenetration. In this case the target need only be known to the charger. As an exception, a body may always declare a charge on a target 40p or less away even if not visible, as long as all other conditions for a charge are met and the charger and target are not separated by impassable terrain.
Note the 'Known' exception during a charge involving an interpenetration. |
