Alex is probably interested in the Open on Saturday, probably not the National Championship, maybe Dogs of War. I'll check and let you know.

Bill Chamis is generally unavailable Thursday-Friday (they always schedule a training thing at work he has to attend for those days). But he might be interested in the Open on Saturday. I'll ping Bill and get back to you.

Assuming we have enough for an Open. If not, I can slot people into the Saturday rounds or if people want to drop, these are replacements. We'll make it work.

I personally like a cut - when I am playing really badly on day 1 - more and more frequent recently, the option to go low key on Saturday is very attaractive

I imagine folks out of the running by the end of the first two rounds (0 to 4 points, basically) may want to drop to play in the Open on Saturday...Scott you're going to want to make sure folks tell you they are dropping before it gets too late on the Friday.

Um, I've done this before yunno. Shocked

I've found that if people drop into the "bottom tier" in a cut-less NICT, the play is low key and fun.

If people want to drop, I typically work out something but last year was a good example of how well things work. I'm not concerned.

With regard to my own thoughts on day 2 of the NICT having few points....

While there is the option of an Open in past years (therefore allowing me to "win" a tournament) I am okay without a cut and taking the option of having a relaxing day gaming on day 2. I thought that I could be competitive fun day 2 and enjoy having battles against opponents who are in a like situation as myself. I was ok with the idea that I wasn't going to win anything at the end of the day and then.... well.... I guess you can come back with 4 points at the end of day 1. A lot has to happen, but it could and I had a great day of gaming against some very friendly gamers.

Sure...all valid points...just that there may be folks who cannot attend Thursday, or possibly Friday, and would be looking to an Open on Saturday to get in some Warrior.

If I was low scoring in the NCT I'd certainly drop to make up enough players to run an Open for such.

Fair enough Frank - forgot that.

I agree with that.

A few quick updates:
* Bill Chamis will not be attending this year; he sends his regrets.
* Alex will be available for some pickup games on Saturday, so we can swap him in as opportunity presents.
* Alex is still debating whether to play in Dogs of War on Friday, but would be happy to use whatever lender army is available should he do so.

For my part I'm wrapping painting on 14 figures and then I'm done. An army I've never played before (in 25mm); should be fun. See y'all in a couple of weeks.

Unfortunate Chamis won't be there...but will be good to see Alex again. Encourage him to play Dogs Wink...the themes are some of our more fun events. List building constraints and tactical options are always so interesting.
