Is there any difference between these?
Thanks |
Yes,
Wooden Barricades, present on a list such as Medieval Scandinavian, are a Temporary Fortification one treats under those rules (can be defended obstacle, but provides no other benefit). They are placed in the Open, much as you'd place most other TF.
Abatis is also a TF, however it can only be placed in a Woods feature, nowhere else. "a defence made of felled trees placed lengthwise over each other with the boughs pointing outwards." Again, can be a defended obstacle.
So...wait until you see the terrain on the table, and during the 'adjust your list' portion of the pre-battle phase, buy the appropriate TFs you want and then deploy them according to the rules.
