Do JLS & SA armed Cavalry get the JLS+ always or just at 1st contact? (I know JLS & SA armed Foot always get it).
Current errata for 9.3 (page 83) speaks of "a figure" and "troops" making me think that the answer is "always", just like Foot, BUT against this older posts here and 7th Edition had Cavalry JLS+ only at 1st contact. Also the (most excellent, dude) Roman/Gauls Demo game only had it for 1st contact. Thanks again. |

"In subsequent bounds of a combat, the JLS+ bonus does not apply to troops also armed with other HtH weapons (other than inherent SA and 2HCW) unless:
• Fighting against elephants
• Pursuing
• Used by chariot or elephant crew."
Typed that in from the amended rules...so Cav do get the JLS+ if they have no other weapon. |

Right that's very clear!
As far as I can tell this issue (Cav JLS+) has flip-flopped as follows:
WRG 7th = 1st contact
2007 Black Book Errata = always
2008 Black Book Errata = 1st contact
2016 Black Book Errata = always
So essentially, this is a change from TOG, right?
That's what had me confused!
Cheers,

What original game?
Yes, this has changed over time. |
