We used preset terrain and tournament deployment rules. Persians out scouted Ugaritic 2 /1 deployed CiC chariots with LI runners on base with LI in orchard on my right, Center had MI LTS and LMI 2HCW on left my Sub with rest of chariots with LMI JLS SH runners attached LMI 2HCW in reserve. Persian deployed SHC and LI opposite my CiC against my Sub Persians deployed his EHC/HC L,B.SH and large unit of MI LTS/B. SHC charged skirmishing chariots without contact, all action was with Sub command. After both sides prep shooting and impetuous charges, a chariot unit routed and Persian EHC cavalry routed leaving the rest chariots to grind to winning draw. Chariots are very tough had blast playing them. In hindsight wish we played Fast Warrior would have been easier learning curve lots of cross gaming Dave and I plan on attending Cold War's playing in both events.

Glad you're gonna play in FW.
But, while it'll work you thru the basics again, the nuances of charging somewhat go away. Plus, there are far fewer moving parts to keep track of, particularly in a front-to-back arrangement.
I play so little that it's easy enough to regain a sense of the game but the spatial details are really where Warrior is tough to master and I only got to that point by playing constantly (4-6 times per month) back in the day.

"Constantly" . My version of 'back in the day,' UK in late 80s/early 90s, I was playing 3-4 times per week. Unsurprisingly I was pretty good back then . |
