I played 6 games: one shake-off-the-rust game with Rich, two in the NICT on Thu (unplanned) and three in the New World Theme on Friday (planned).

Playing and umping sucks. Todd reiterated that Fri night after he had to play all three rounds because of odd numbers. It's not necessarily because it takes you away from the game or out of your focus (I have no focus to begin with), it's simply draining. Given the issues that were tossed at me on Saturday, I'm really glad Rick had to bail, which meant I could bail from playing. I have no idea how to deal with this--if the games weren't 3.5 hours and 3 a day, it wouldn't be so bad. But they are.

I had a good time playing the Markowitzezzzzz, Dave on Thu in the NICT (he passed his El waver checks against me, tanked em against Derek 4 rounds later) and Ben in the Theme on Friday. I also played Matt on Thu and I always love those games. We both laugh, are easy-going and the number of people who wandered by to compliment our armies is always great.

And that's one thing we still have over everybody around us: our armies and the scale we play in are eye candy. Does it attract new players? No but putting on a display simply speaks well for the player base in that regard.

Greg's t-shirts were nice and most of us on Thu wore them. Again, it's another little thing that makes us stand out a bit from the crowd. He's got some left so contact him if you want one. He's gonna do them again next year.

Lemme repeat something I always say at the shows: thank Rich every time you see him. He did all the terrain, he stores all the terrain and he schleps all the terrain. It's a thankless task (the schlepping).

Ed:

Kevin Santos posted in another thread he wants to dive back in. I know you haven't played in ages but you're both in Allentown.
