LIST: One list from published army list books, 1st Ed for Classical/Oriental, 2nd Ed for rest, African Warrior draft lists allowed.
XRULES:
• Barbarian Foot rules in effect with the following addition: Under 2(a), add "following up" as a new condition for counting 3rd/4th ranks in HTH.
• X-Rules 2.512, 2.52, 2.53, 5.11, 6.2, 8.6, 11.1, 17.1 and 17.2.
• Roman Rules Players Guide and all X-Rules contained therein.
• Armies with Army Standard and an option for a Sacred Standard may upgrade to the latter for 30pts. If the list has a Sacred Standard but no Army Standard, the former may be purchased for 30 pts and whatever cost of the troops (for example, Etruscan SS would cost 33 pts total).
• Hussite playtest rules are in effect if someone shows up with them.
• All morale grades for troops MUST BE DEFINED DURING DEPLOYMENT.
• (FRANK RULE) Only 1 TF maybe *attempted* to be placed beyond 240p of the rear edge. Roll 1-2, fails and can only be placed in the Rear Zone (or at all, player's discretion), Roll 3-6, is placed as the player desires per rules.
• JLS armed cav fight 1.5 ranks in HTH combat versus any foot when charging, counter-charging, and pursuing.
• Loose/Open order foot that rolls long on a variable move may choose to move an additional 40p.
• Samnites (if anybody brings them or an army that includes them, most likely only Scott!) do not suffer the -2 for facing steady P/LTS (this overrides the List Rule).
Deployment rules in effect (Please Read)
• http://www.fourhorsemenenterprises.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17378 (SHEET ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL)
• Bodies may *not* be in Skirmish formation at deployment. Bodies may *not* march while in Skirmish formation.
• Deployment Orders: No command may deploy, even partially, behind another. Commands need to be in blocks alongside each other. When listing your commands/blocks, you number the order in which they will be deployed, largest first, then in any order. Your blocks need to be a decent representation of how much frontage along the board they will take
• We will use a timed deployment with chess clock apps like we did at Fall In. The time allowed for deployment is TBD.
If you have any questions please reach out to Scott or place them on the Forum.

I'd like a little more discussion on:
"Deployment Orders: No command may deploy, even partially, behind another. Commands need to be in blocks alongside each other. When listing your commands/blocks, you number the order in which they will be deployed, largest first, then in any order. Your blocks need to be a decent representation of how much frontage along the board they will take."
So, the last sentence is intended to prevent me from making a one element wide corridor in between two main commands in which one command deploys with stacked units, then marching left or right as case may be?
What if that command is just a small one of, say, three 2E units of lancers, can I still have my one element wide deployment?
Also, we are still required by the rules to write down, before deploying, boxes in which our commands will deploy, relative to one another and the terrain, right?
If so, these boxes now must be 'appropriately wide' to reflect a 'decent representation' of the frontage such command will take, right?
This all combines to be very restrictive...but ok.

Frank: We did this at Fall In with no issues. Restrictive? Yes. Feature, not a bug.
Jevon: No African Warrior X-Rules. Unless X-Rules are *specifically* mentioned in the main tourney right up, always assume they are *not* allowed from any given army list book. _________________ These Rules Suck, Let's Paint! |

Got it, so, implied, the answer is no, your command of 3 lancers units cannot deploy in a one element wide box, but must have at least a three element wide deployment frontage. |

Agree very restrictive. Makes allied contingents often less attractive, as they are often homogenous and offer something that the parent army does not but which needs to be used as combined arms. What was the cause/rationale for this?
And I don't read the restriction that Frank does, but I could be wrong. |

Complaints that had merit. That's as far as we're going with this. Adapt and don't try to game it. If I hafta rule on deployments, I will.
We had *no* issues with people doing this at Fall In. _________________ These Rules Suck, Let's Paint! |
