While I voted for the cheapest element rule, I would add that if you
exceed the limit then those points are added subtracted from your
total points scored.

Dennis, what I will do is if that is the 'winner', then we'll have a new poll
here asking if the excess should be docked for victory purposes.

Also, please remember that polls here are too small and from too select a crew
to be exactly representative and are therefore only a piece of the info we use
to make such decisions. One answer could very well 'win' this poll, esp. by a
small margin, and not end up in the book...

I agree with this. This kind of rule should keep violators of excessive points
over to reconsider going over the limit otherwise they give 1 point over to
their opponent before the game even starts.

Then you might as well do the hard cap and avoid the
mess of losing a point in the first place.

Sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Gary Bento
and I just joined the list recently. I was introduced
to the game about a year and a half ago (by Christian
C.) but didn't really start playing until about a
month ago. My second and third game was at the Panda
torney in Toronto when I came out with 2 draws (first
draw was against Cole). Great game BTW!

Welcome Gary!

Yes, let's just answer the poll as it is written with the hard cap vs. the way
the rule is now. Once we gather that and some more info, we'll compare the
results to other choices.

Thanks!

Hate to say it, but I won that one Gary :)

And another vote for the hard cap, going over is just plain unfair,
especially when its by the cheapest element chosen. For instance, who
can honestly argue its fair that a list should be able to go over to
get an extra element of super-heavy knights...

Have fun!
Cole

Sometimes lists don't always work out to the specified points on wishes. This
method still allows players a choice which is a good thing. More choices are
always good. I believe that having a consequence for going over is the best way
to curb this behavior.

Cole,

I certainly would have a field day with someone who's cheapest element was
a Super Heavy Knight. That would mean that the person in question most likely
has a very tiny army that lends it's self to being out flanked and wasted. I
would love to face such an army.
