We had two incidents last night that seem to need clarification.
Issue 1) When do order changes take effect. Under 7th, it was clear that
they took effect on the bound after successful retransmitting by the
Sub/Ally General.
In Warrior, there is no mention of delay except for CinC's ability to
evaluate and resend orders.
In our example, bound 3, phase 1, the CinC spent 10 min sending orders to
the Sub. The Sub spent 10 min resending to its command.
It would seem that effects would take effect bound 3. Being Rev 7
retreads, we waited till bound 4 for the effects to take place.
Would the timing change if it was a command with Wait orders responding to
a improvised signal?
Issue 2) We had a column of troops that wheeled to approached an enemy
unit. Because of positioning, the column remained bent at the turning
point after approaches were done. According to 6.111, this seems OK, but
Ed stated that he was told at Cold Wars that the column cannot remain bent
after moves were completed and must assume a totally conventional block
formation.
My counter is that it was a block, and there is several exceptions to
the rigid shoulder to shoulder front to front alignments to Block.
Admittedly, most apply to conforming to terrain features.
I also can see situations where a column can never make a wheel. If
units consisting of 3 or more elements of models, or 5 or more elements of
mounted or loose order foot, cannot make a tactical move involving a wheel
based on this restriction.
In marches, columns consisting of 7 or more mounted, 5 or more models,
9 or more loose order foot, cannot make a wheel if required to be in a
perfect block at the end of each march segment.

If I understand what you mean by 'bent' and 'conventional', Ed is right.
