I have my Paphlagonian Hillmen contingent ready to go except for one
thing.shields. What did they look like? Patterns, colors, etc.

I looked up some stuff.
If the Paphlagonian hillmen are the same fellows that Xenophon fights
on his way to the sea (the Chochians, the Chalybes) they look like this:

at least one had "fine garments" by greek comparison
body armour of linen (if any at all)with thick twisted cords as a skirt
greaves and helmets (assumeably bronze)
carried knives as well as main arms of shield and spear

The shields are not described in detail, but mention is made of
captued shields being cut up by Xenophon and his men to ruin them, so
probably wicker or leather and wood.

That is all I know.
