Here's an idea born of a couple of cold beers and brain-storming discussion at
Historicon:
While I think it's a really good idea to have our conventional notion of
scouting points have some impact on terrain selection (Cole's idea), there is a
flip side to this as well.
Once terrain _is_ selected, there might be situations in which dense terrain
alters scouting values. Just as an example, you might do the following:
If three or more pieces of very difficult terrain (woods, marsh, steep hill) are
in forward zones, then change scouting points as follows:
- HC no longer count
- LC count only 1 pt per stand
- loose order foot count the same as LI
This would better reflect the fact that, for example, the Welsh in actual
history routinely "outscouted" the Normans, despite the fact that in Warrior
terms the Normans always have more scouting points.
