Chris:

Unfortunately, I not have the answers for you.  Let me post then to the Warrior Discussion Group and maybe one of the Warrior Gods will be able to answer them for you.  You might want to join the Warrior Discussion Group.  We have frequently rules/interpretations discusses as well as tactics discusses.

I was reading through the new WRG Army Lists Volume 2 and had several
queries
that someone may be able to help me with:

1. 2HCT costs more than other weapons. This doesn't seem to be listed in
the rules. Does 2HCT cost more or not?

>It does, 1 pt.

2. Cavalry is listed as having 2HCT. I remember reading somewhere that
since 2HCT had no utility for cavalry it did not have to pay for it. True?

>No. The only time we've not made people pay for weapons on horseback was
when the "dart" was found to be erroneous on Byzantine cavalry. In the case
of 2HCT on horseback, they're actually there for when the mounted samurai (the
only example that comes to mind) dismount. Having said that, there *might*
end up being a list rule to cover this. I'll be heavily using the late Mike
McGinnis' work on Japanese lists when I get around to doing them (and Oriental
Warrior will either be the last or next to the last Warrior Army List Book to
be done). Bottom line, you pay for the 2HCT on horseys.

3. The introduction states that troops from different lines cannot be
mixed, but the lists seem to indicate that troops of the same name can be.
For example, list 109 allows you to purchase Reg D infantry with bow as MI
if in mixed units or as LMI if not but the notes say nothing about this. Can
Ashigaru with bow be mixed with Ashigaru with spear even if the notes don't
mention it?

>The *general* rule is that troops from different lines cannot be mixed UNLESS
specified in the list OR the troop types have the same name (although there
are some exceptions, if memory serves, to that last one). In this case if you
wanna mix Ashigaru, you can.

4. I think I heard that new lists would be published for Warrior and that
they would become the only recognized lists. Is that true and are they
available yet?

>No. Perhaps this is a good time to recap lists. Warrior will have seven
army list booklets that are aimed more at a geographical period and time frame
and not necassarily a linear plod thru history. These books are:

Biblical Warrior
Classical Warrior
Imperial Warrior
Dark Age Warrior
Holy Warrior
Feudal Warrior
Oriental Warrior

To date, only Biblical Warrior is done in draft form. It's currently with the
proofreader and will *hopefully* be on sale, along with *hopefully* Warrior at
Historicon. Dark Age Warrior is next on the production schedule. I am about
1/3 of the way done with it. It's been on hold for a while due to production
of Fast Warrior lists and my ughy committments to HMGS-East as Treasurer (I'm
overseing an independent audit of the books). Anyone wanting to get a feel
for what lists will be covered in Warrior, look in Warrior at the Fast Warrior
lists, all 276 of them. All of those will be in the aforementioned 7 books
except the New World lists which will be made available online at some point.

As for what army lists get recognized, please remember that anyone running a
tournament can limit or not limit what army lists are used at any particular
tourney. At any NASAMW tourney I happen to run as Chief Umpire, yes, only
Warrior lists will be allowed unless they're not done yet. We're looking to
do 2 list booklets per year so my goal is to have Dark Age Warrior available
by the fall sometime. Cold Wars next year will hopefully see either Holy
Warrior or Feudal Warrior out followed by the other one (Holy or Feudal) at
Historicon. Then it'll probably be Imperial Warrior, then either Classical or
Oriental followed by Classical or Oriental.
