I'd just like to add my congratulations to the team's effort. Please put me on the playtest list as well. If there are any lists out there, please mail me copies. Could anyone in the London area perhaps contact me so I can get into a group?
On a different topic, I'd like to ask if something could be done about the 25mm bases? I'm also a member of the Warhammer Ancient Battles list, and we have had a similar discussion about 25mm bases there. I used to play with 15mm figures in South Africa, and found no problems with the sizes, but when we experimented with 25mm figures, we found a slight problem- the bases are too small, since most of the modern (read Gripping Beast, Foundry, Old Glory) figures are closer to 28mm. Would it be possible to make the 25mm bases larger to accommodate this? I'd like to suggest the following:

Frontage: 60mm change to 80mm
Depth for:
Close formation infantry                       20mm
Loose or open formation infantry           30mm
Cavalry, camelry, transport                   40mm change to 50mm
Elephants, chariots, herds, expendables   80mm
Artillery, towers, religious                        As required.
E Class                                                30mm
Optional E Class                                    40mm
Baggage Camps                                    60mm change to 80mm

See ya,                                                                          Olaf & Leaan Meysogm@multitouch.co.zaogmeys@zoom.co.ukogmeys@hotmail.com

But seriously...  It is never been a problem with depth of a unit being used to conform, but we went through this 13 years ago with the basing of 15mm from the original rev 6 to conform to the larger 18mm figures.  It was a mess,  and a lot of figure casualties in broken ankles, and bleeding fingers.  The Elmers glued figures were not as much of a problem, a day soaking in water would deal with that, but the super glue lived up to its name.

I refer specifically to the width of bases here. I see your point of re-basing, but at least consider the idea of the OPTION of wider bases?

A drop of a product called Bestine at the base of the figure will disolve the super glue and pop the figure right off the base.
