If I had a little more notice I might have been able to, but I’ve already
made family obligations for that weekend.
Sorry guys. I know the late notice wasn’t intentional, but speaking for
myself I need a bit more than Two weeks Notice.
Does the NASAMW Website have an available list of upcoming tournaments?

Well, it looks like it's the same as New Orleans, kind of like the
difference between Brownsville and San Benito. About a ten hour drive for
me, more like 12 or 13 for you--up 77 to Houston, then I-10 East thru
Beaumont to N.O. If we can make it, I think the guys in MO can.

I'm bummed. I wish I could change my plans, but I'm flying to an
airshow in Pittsburg that weekend.
I hope this becomes an annual thing. Or even better, I hope the guys
in Baton Rouge can sponser a Warrior tournament. I haven't played in
Baton Rouge since I was at LSU.
Does John Green still play Late Romans?

Well, Wes, I doubt it. Last time I played him or that we were at
historicon simultaneouly (3 yrs ago???), he was playing Macedonian
successor pikes, or Thessalian (Hutchby Clarke) or Franks. He would line
them up left to right, force march all the infantry and steamroll. He also
used to play Aztecs (long ago) until he sold the army to my son and me.
John's a good example of the adage that armies don't make the player any
more than racquets make the tennis player or clubs make the golfer.
Actually, that also brings to mind Dave Dietrich. Last time I spoke to
John was about two years ago, and he is still in touch with the Texas gang
in San Antonio. I can remember twenty years ago sitting and watching Dave
Dietrich and Bob Putnam play Alex Imperial vs. Maccabean Jewish. What an
education. It was almost like going through the motions. They each knew
what was going to happen two bounds before it happened, what die rolls
would be required for each unit to break or survive, etc. I couldn't keep
up, but even though it was the finals of a 30 player tournament (we
actually used to have those in Austin years ago...sigh...) they would take
time to tell me what they were doing to each other (there were no secrets
as they each saw two or three moves ahead anyway) and to answer really
dumb questions. Putnam was also a great painter, and I think Dave still
has the Maccabeans he bought off Bob years ago. Those were the
days...before fantasy and before computer games...

Good Morning Valient Greek!
I can make this, now that my project from hell is finished at work.
I'm out of the office for a few days, but will email you on Monday.
Perhaps I can talk Dave "The Beast Man" Beeson, Forbesy, or Todd into
coming. Pretty sure Duane is out, since his wife is ten thousand
months pregnant.
Talk to you Monday ... Greg

Greg,
Odds are I will be coming with Steve Hollowell if we can squeeze it in with
Summer School starting on Monday. Hope to see you and 48 friends who are ready
to defend the empire!

Todd,
No doubt about it, and it is my fault completely. I do need a
Warrior contact, who can push and prod so that we can have this
information on the NASAMW as well as the various newsgroups.

Howdy,
The NASAMW site has listings announcing 94 events this past year, mostly
DBM and Warrior. I am always on the look out for other events to list
(including Armati. DBA, Ancient/Medieval Warfare, WAB and whatever else
people play), so if you are organizing an event, or know someone who is,
shoot me the details. The NASAMW site also has the results for almost 120
individual competitions from this year so far (probably will be close to
140 by the end of Historicon), so do also send in your results. Nothing
like seeing your name up in electrons!

Hilton,
I just checked the website and schedule of events and found lots of
references to DBx tournaments, but no mention of Warrior. Did I miss
something? I'd hate to drive 10 hours and have to play another game
system. Notice how loyal I am FHE?

There is definately going to be a tournament. Dave Dietrich is
heading it up, and the information that I posted here will be on the
site as soon as our webmaster gets it posted.
Also, we do have terrain, but bring game mats.
