Here are 19 armies that pretty much capture the major players of the 100 Years
War. Obviously not everybody's "enemy" is listed since I started around the
core of English and French armies and moved outward from there. When we got a
tad bit too eastern, I stopped.
If this looks good to everybody, we'll go with it at Border Wars in KC this
October. Remember, you can paint up generic knights that can be used in
literally dozens of armies.
194-Scots Isles/Highlands
198-Scots Common
199-Later Welsh
200-Anglo-Irish
205-Granadine
206-Navarrese
208-Low Countries
209-Holy Roman Imperial
210-Swiss
211-Medieval German Princes
212-Medieval German Leagues
213-Medieval Irish
214-100 Years War English
215-Italian Condotta
216-Medieval French
218-Medieval Spanish
219-Free Company
220-Early Burgundian
222-French Ordonnance
The only thing you can expect to find different will be the Swiss List rules.
In all probability, we'll have the FW list rules coincide with the full blown
Swiss list rules found in Feudal Warrior.
I have a reasonable amount of figs for the period, particularly things like the
English, Burgundians, etc. I can even put out 1-2 Swiss armies in 15mm in FW.

I think you are missing a few. 99% of BW attendees come from the KS/MO/IA area
and we HAVE to make sure their needs are taken care of. Some of those guys are
planning or have armies in the time period, in Europe and not on that list.
Makes no sense to try and get them to paint/get *another* army.
Please add:
202 Hohenstaufen
203 Late Polish
217 Late Teuts

Well shoot if you are going to get this late and are including the Swiss the
notable omission I saw was the Burgundian Ordanance.

Scott, Could you include Byzantines and Saracen infidels? I happen to have
mostly that in that period that I enjoy.

Well shoot if you are going to get this late and are including the Swiss the
notable omission I saw was the Burgundian Ordanance.
*Entering Pedantic Mode*
Burgundian Ordonnance's were first promulgated in 1471. The "100 Years War"
ended in 1453, hence, no Burgundian Ordonnance. Everybody assumes that if you
have Swiss, you *must* have Burgundian Ordonnance. Au contraire mon frair, the
Swiss were very active fighting off German predations during the period and
provided mercs off and on to many of the peripheral antagonists. They are a
natural inclusion in such a theme, imnsho.
The reason the French Ordonnance list was included is that for a short spate of
time in the 1450s (the first French Ordonnance was promulated in 1450), armies
nominally of this nature met and beat the English as hostilities were finally
petering out.
The Hohenstaufen list has not been included because it ends 30+ years prior to
the start of the "100 Years War". Although the Poles and L Teuts are a tad bit
too "eastern" for what one usually envisions "100 Years War" encompassing, they
are at least contemporary and both provide opponents for the various German
lists. The African lists were also deliberately left out because I wanted the
Iberian lists focused solely on European conflicts, not minor issues to their
south. Plus, the point of theme tourneys is to not bring terribly disparate
armies into the mix, that's what o*p*e*n tournaments are for:) :)
*Leaving Pedantic Mode*
