				| Folks, if you're in California and planning to attend next weekend's "The
Shield" convention in San Ramon, here's some info about the Warrior Tournament.

Manny Granillo has organized this event, for the second year, for which we
should all be grateful. Manny's been a great supporter of historical miniatures
for many years, and his recent support of Warrior is greatly appreciated. Manny
has asked me to umpire the Warrior tournament, which I'll be doing.

The plan is to do 3 rounds with a 10:00 AM start time on Saturday. Manny had
planned on 3 1/2 hour rounds, so rounds will begin at 10:00, at 2:30, and 7:00.
If, at the end of 3 1/2 hours, _both_ players would like to do one final bound,
then I will allow that, but I won't push back starting times for the next
 round.

Also, some players have expressed an interest in getting in a round on Friday
evening, so that they can participate in other events on Saturday evening.
Again, I'm willing to accomodate that.

It looks to me like we 6 confirmed, participants, which will make this an NICT
qualifying event. Confirmed players and armies are:
 -Mark Stone, Later Paleologan Byzantine
 -Alex Stone, Shang Chinese
 -Manny Granillo, Early Achmaenid Persian
-Ed Forbes, French Ordannance (brave soul)
 -Rich Gagliasso, Early Imperial Roman
 -John Bauman, Bactrian Greek

Lenney Hermann is a maybe, Ed is going to see if he can get one or two others
from Fresno, and hopefully we'll get one or two players from the Monterey
crowd, though they tend to stick to DBM. Frank Gilson will not be able to make
it up from Southern California. So we could have as many as 10, but we should
have 6 for sure. And Ed, if you want to change armies between now and next
 weekend, feel free.

If anyone besides Ed and Manny is interested in playing on Friday night, let me
know ahead of time if you can.

No, I need to work on my timing and this army forces me to pay real close
 attention.

				| I wish all of the folks who can attend Shield the very best of Warrior gaming
and comraderie. I was able to attend last year's event and enjoy Manny's
hospitality but sadly my new status as government hack does not permit me the
freedom to do so again this year....

 Enjoy!

Manny has two lists posted on "The Shield" site, so that's what we'll go with.
