Lotsa digital photos were taken and I hope those folks (Jon B and Todd) who took
em can get em online somewhere.
I had a great time and got to play. I had a wonderful warm up game Fri night
with Jon Becker who also provided some outstanding home brew--his Milk Stout is
much better than that at Lancaster Brewing and his orange and coriander beer was
also really really good. And the warm up game was good for both of us since we
tweaked our lists for the next day, heh heh, not so sure that that helped us but
we tweaked anyway:) I also had three great games on Saturday. I enjoyed
playing all three of my opponents (Mike, and both Jons).
The tourney looked good and playing 1200pts, 25mm on a 6x4 table meant that the
2.5 hour rounds didn't really cut things off, well, at least none of my
games:) :)
Results:
1) Jon Cleaves, Han Dynasty Chinese
2) Steve Hollowell, Nikephorian Byzantine
3) Scott Holder, Song Dynasty Chinese
4) Matt Johnson, Hundred Years War English
5) Jon Becker, Sassanid Persian
6) Kelly Wilkinson, Later Imperial Roman
7) Mike Turner, Late Imperial Roman
Todd Schneider, Tlaxcalan
Best Sportsman: Jon Becker
Best Painted: Scott Holder
Prizes provided by Renaissance Ink through HAHMGS.
Thanks to all who attended. The next KC-area tourney will be the 1600 pt, 15mm
preset terrain event that will be umped by Steve Hollowell on July 9th. I plan
on being there with Asiatic Early Successors as a warm up for the Hcon Theme
event which I really want to play in.

I wanted to mention that I heard numerous positive comments about how well
painted all of the armies were at Call to Arms from non anicients players. In
addition, a couple of guys that I know that are Warhammer/DBA/M folks commented
that our 1200 point games had "lots" of troops(which looked cool) and they for
some reason thought we were playing more points. Who knows, maybe they were
talking about the hordes of Reg D Sung Chinese. :)

Afternoon Scott,
I guess I'm going to have to get ready for the July 9th tourney.
Could you please tell me where it will be held.
Thanks in advance for your response.

I had a fun first game against Scott, he had several units of cheap
Reg D, unfortunately I bought the expensive Reg D.....
The July tournament is on Ft Leavenworth, in Hoge Barracks (the
Housing Office).
