Yes, Don, I can se changing it to 'end' for the same reason we wrote the
wheel/turn rule that way.

Yesterdays game was a good case in point. The rules are vast, and even
strong minds can not contain them all at once. We had a major rules honk up
that stopped our game for 20 minutes. We hemmed and hawed and looked and
debated. Finally the rule was found, clear and in black and white, no
debate remained, no interp needed. So what we had was a clear rule, but it
was not on the tip of our brain tongue. Games of this complexity are by
nature complex (duh!). (BTW the rule was that a body wheeling or turning
90 only has to "end" the move clear of obstuctions. If in the act of
wheeling or turning a portion of the body goes "into" an obstuction, it is
ok as long as the body gets clear of the obstruction before then end of the
move. A rule we strongly agree with too.).

Then as a counterpoint we had another situation where we had a debate, the
rule was found and it is written in clear language. We do not happen to
agree with it, so even though we played the rule as written, we debated
possible changes to it.

The rule is that counters can net GET closer to any enemy body within 240p.
We very much would like to see this say END rather than get. We played it
as GET, but wonder if END is what was intended. Is it GET? We will (and
have played) play this way as that is the written rule. Could you consider
END? Make the game a bit more playabe in our (Me, Patrick, and Chris)
opinion.

Might the same be said for Retirements? This way, approaches (already uses
'end'), counters, and retirements would all be similar - the move being
reviewed for compliance at the end of the move - and thus simpler.
