down of tournament games while players look up list rules.

To me this is along the lines of stating how many scouting points are not
visible when I complete deployment, and querying my opponent as to how many
scouting points are not visible of his. Sure, I and my opponent could
withhold
this information, but that would simply slow down the game as each of us took
time to count it all out. I'd much rather spend the time "pushing lead", and

I try to be as forthcoming as possible about things that could be deciphered

We are 100% in agreement on this, Mark.

And I weigh in:
Folks, what Mark just said epitomizes the mindset and attitude that all tourney
players should have on stuff like this. All too often I get called in halfway
thru something because of that implied level of subterfuge Mark references as
inappropriate. He is 1000% correct.

As far as troop types and list rules are concerned, what Mark said. And thanks
for saying it.

I also like the idea of announcing list rules. In playing Ted Furey over
the weekend using Timurid, it was clear that Ted was surprised the first
time my LC seemlessly evaded through my HC. I had just assumed he would
know about the new list rule, given the discussion its been given.
Fortunately, the move happened early on and did not really impact the game.
After the incident, I took out my OW and went through each of the Mongol
rules with Ted, so at least he would know the list specific rules going
forward.

BTW, I highly encourage anyone who can to attend one of Bill's gaming
events -- well worth the trip.

Dave.
