As my name is being taken in vain again here , just to note that the
'upgrade of 1/2' has only ever applied army-wide, even in old lists. So
while one might get an extra one element somewhere, that's only one per
army. not one per unit!
HTW, JLS, Sh Irr LMI, while cute, are not exactly an overly common troop
type. Yes, they kill a bunch of stuff - all other things equal.
However, the mismatch against Reg B HI HTW, Sh guys is much more a case
of not getting full bang for the points of the legion - they have never
yet been able to 'punch their weight' in terms of being worth the
points. Now, don't get me wrong - I placed the infamous river in the
last NICT against Tim Brown precisely because I was afraid of what his
HTW, JLS guys would do to my pike and Elephants. But the overpricing of
the legions is a bigger factor here.

Don,
Read my post concerning Historicon. This is how the sharp
players such as Ewan and EVERYONE else plays them at Historicon. Ask
Scott that question as I recall he Umped the Roman theme event where
this ocurred. As I recall, My opponents one year when we were in the
Tennis Courts were Mr. Markowictz and Mr. Kaesar (sorry about the
spelling boys!). One of these guys might be able to help you as I
have a plane to catch for Santa Con! ;)

>Thank You!!!!!!!!!!! for stating this and clearing up an issue that obviously
still confuses some. The FHE lists are no different in that regard in terms of
"1/x of something" applying army wide (unless it specifically says unit in the
lists). As an umpire, if I EVER catch anybody pulling this stunt of rounding
up, you're tossed from the tourney. I love list manipulation as much as the
next guy but this oversteps the bounds of even the worst stereotypical
gamesmanship.
>And no, don't ask me about something I did 5 years ago at a tourney in terms of
rulings. That's ancient history.

As a relatively "new" player to warrior, does anyone
(Scott?) have an idea of how many LMI HTW, JLS, SH IRR
guys are out there? CeltIberians and Carthaginians
(Later?) are the only two I have seen mentioned, yet
in scanning the various tournament results posted on
the message group, I don't see those Armies being run
all that much.
Thanks,
Todd

Todd,
It is not my contention that these armies are barn burners.
It's just that in a historical match-up like against carthaginian
and Romans/any Greeks that it is unbalanced. What would any
contemporary Greek do but scream and run ("The Spartan" example)
rather than fight such UBER troops who were their contemporaries.

Moogs are in a number of Feudal Warrior and Holy Warrior lists. You
have the option of being LMI, LTS or HTW,Jls, Sh, Irreg B and they
can save a point per figure by being shieldless.

I guess I didn't finish my thought. Shieldless in the back rank!
