Jon,
I don't know how the rules out here morphed into Impetuous foot just stand to
take the charge but don't waiver. It has been so long since I have run IRR
foot who could charge (range) Cav that it just ceased to matter and all too
often was used against me. Hence my thouhgts about it. You are of course
right about the time frame that the rules have been in place. As I write
about these, it occurs to me the comedy of errors that have taken place out
here. Last year I convinced 3 guys from Texas to go to Historicon for the
first time. All of us came back with different interpretations, experiences
as to how the rules were being played.
Finally, please believe that I do not take your comments or tone as
combative, but as firstly authoritative and secondly as instructive.

All I can tell you is that I am spending hundreds of hours and thousands of
dollars (literally) to try and fix that.

What a compliment, thanks! Scary though....
I'm kind of a dick in real life and don't want to come across that way to our
loving players!
Going to Hcon?
Jon

I'm in complete agreement with Chris on this one Jon .... please don't take
ANY of our comments as being combative. Its just hard to write things on an
e-posting service without having things come out a bit blunt. Trust me on
this, we are all VERY excited about a rules set written be people that
actually know how to play.
What Chris says about interpretations is exactly correct. Two of the guys
that went to Nationals last year live in my city and they both came back
with different ways that things were rules. This is compounded by the fact
that the major playing centers in the Southwest Region are so far apart, its
virtually imposable for us to get together other than at our tournaments and
as you might imagine, these sometimes turn into, "well we play it this way
in San Antonio" and "well that's not what we do in Dallas" and "well in
Louisiana, we play like at Nationals" .... all of which makes for added
confusion.
So, when we make suggestions, comments, critiques, please take them as
directed at you by people that give your newest endeavor our complete
support.
Greg
