Don says:

<<BTW in both games I was under attack and
he was under wait. The 3' wide board put me right on top of him in his own
back yard very quickly. In the future he may want to scoot a few
units forward to delay my approaches, or maybe try probe orders.>>

It is our intent that Fast Warrior be, well, fast. It is conciously designed
to get people into the fight ASAP. Having orders that are not attack will
produce player-accepted risks.
It will also not be uncommon, especially if outscouted, for less mobile
armies to be fighting well back on their side of the table. We know this and
accept it.
FW is designed primarily to do two things:
1. Get army lists in the hands of new players ASAP and allow them to play
with their troops as quickly as possible as they build armies to the 1600
point level.
2. Provide a forum to teach new players the basic mechanics of Warrior with
minimum resources required, esp. time.

I hope you did not feel we were slamming little warrior because we love
it. I was mearly acting as a playtester and reporting our findings. It
behaves exactly as you intended it to. In addition to your points 1 and
2 (which it does an excellent job of), it allows us to play with 3 guys
(we rotate as each of us sit out in turn), we can squeeze games into
otherwise unplayable timeslots, and we can run bunches of what ifs.
Patrick and I found that our weekend felt longer as we played 2 games of
FW, sat in on all 8 breeders cup races at simulcast, and saw remember
the titans, all in one day. It felt like a whole weekends worth of
stuff, and when I woke up it was only Sunday!!
