Well, I made it to AirConn in East Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday
afternoon, and had a great time. I met Jake Kovel and saw his
Vietnamese elephant army defeat a Roman force, and his opponent's son
sat down with me and walked me through a Fast Warrior game. I have a
better handle on the mechanics of the game now and will go back and
reread the rules.
I didn't see a actual Warrior tournament taking place, was that
because of low turnout on a nice spring day, or did the activity pick
up later after I had to leave?
Jake - I'd love to take you up on your offer to get together for
gaming on a regular basis (Yes, I was the guy writing about the 28mm
figures a tread or two back, but didn't think to mention it). I have
your card, and will give you a call in the near future, or you can
email me at pcelella@... if some opportunities for gaming
come up before then. I can get you my phone number if you like.
I would have liked to stay longer, but I had to negotiate with my
wife to get away for what I did. We just moved into a new house (7
doors up the street from my old house), and my wife was very
insistent I get started on the yard and gardens before she has her
housewarming dinner party for her friends.
Now it's my time to put together some armies of my own. I was
thinking of a Swiss late medieval and a Late Roman list. I take it
1600 points is a good target for a full size army?

Yo !! That was my son with whom you played Fast Warrior, not Jake's opponent
.He told me about the game and said it was really great.
I was not at Aircon. I tried to make it but my wife and daughter kept me
home, so I can appreciate your not having the time.
My son is hoping to get down to Jake's for a few games sometimes.Hopefully,
we will get to see you.

Sorry Ed, my mistake. I don't know why, but I thought that was Matt's
dad playing.
Yes - I had a great time with Matt. It was really helpful having
someone walk me through the mechanics of Warrior, and now that I'm re-
reading the rulebook it makes a lot more sense. It's a great game in
my opinion - the best of the ancient rulesets out there.
Please let me know if you guys are getting a game together - I would
love to come, assuming it's ok with Jake. Also - you guys live in the
Bershires, right? About where? I just did the structural engineering
for the Lenox library renovations, and for the new addition to the
North Adams library. I'm only about an hour from the Bershire's
(depending where), and if you guys get a game together up there, I'd
try to make it myself.
One more thing - I had to run out after playing my Fast Warrior game
with Matt (I was half an hour later already than the time I promised
my wife I would be back), and realised that in my rush to get out, I
didn't help Matt pick. I'd like to apologize for being inconsiderate
like that.

NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE!!!!
He had great time and we are always under time constrains with our wife so
we understand completely.
Gt Barrington is south of both Lenox and N. Adams. So Matt is in Lee right
off the Mass Pike.
Unfortunately, we don't get to play much because of timing. But we will let
you know and I will relay your message to Matt.
Thanks
Ed.
