 |
|
FHE is pleased to annouce the creation of the Fifth Horseman program.
FHE Fifth Horsemen Program
Purpose: Promote the play of FHE games.
What a Fifth Horseman (5H) gets from FHE:
1. A white polo shirt with black FHE logo and Fifth Horseman
lettering.
2. Initially, one set of prize vouchers from FHE and another set
with every event in an FHE game he or she runs.
3. FHE products at 40% off. These may be kept for personal use
or resold, effectively making a 5H an FHE distributor. There will be
an annual limit by type of product.
Fifth Horseman Events. To stay in the 5H program, a 5H must run at
least two events per year in an FHE game. The event can be a
tournament, scenario game or demonstration. If it is a tournament,
it must use the FHE sanctioned format below. To qualify as a 5H
Event:
1. The event must take place at a game convention or other
public venue.
2. The 5H must provide proof of the event such as digital
photos, convention flyer, etc. and the names and signatures of the
participants. Email addresses for an opponent's wanted database will
be optional.
3. The event must employ FHE game rules and any associated
clarifications or guidelines. The 5H may always request approval of
event-specific changes to published rules and guidelines.
4. The event must have at least eight participants if a
tournament and at least four if a scenario game or demonstration.
Prize Vouchers: Each time a 5H provides a record of an event taking
place, FHE will send him or her another set of three prize vouchers
to be used in conjunction with the next event. Use of prizes is at
the discretion of the 5H - for example in a tournament they could be
for 1st, 2d and 3d place or 1st place, best painted and best
sportsman and in a scenario game for most damage done, best rookie
and worst dice, etc. FHE will determine the value of the prize
vouchers with the intent of having every 5H receive a standard value
and increasing the value of those given to 5H's who consistently draw
a large number of players to their events.
Annual Award: Each year FHE will present an award to the most
prolific Fifth Horseman.
Annual Review: Each year FHE will review the performance of each 5H
and those who did not run any events will be dropped from the program
unless there are extenuating circumstances.
The Fifth Horseman Privilege: Being a 5H is a privilege bestowed by
FHE. 5H's are volunteer representatives of the company and are
expected to act accordingly and not to abuse the privilege. FHE
reserves the right to refuse any request to be a member of the
program and to drop someone from the program at any time if they feel
the 5H is not properly representing FHE. By agreeing to be a Fifth
Horseman, a person agrees to all the conditions of the program and to
FHE's control over who is a member of it and who is not. FHE will
not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed or religion, but
will discriminate on the basis of behavior, motivation, integrity,
conscientiousness, knowledge of the game system in question and
hygiene. In addition, no more than one person can serve as an active
Fifth Horseman per municipality. Applications to serve as a Fifth
Horseman will be considered on a first come-first served basis.
FHE Sanctioned Tournaments: If a 5H chooses to run a tournament as
an event, it must comply with the following:
1. Must have a minimum of eight participants who play all the
games and rounds of the tournament.
2. All participants must own their own original copy of the FHE
game rules being played.
3. Must use the competition games framework and scoring system
included in the game OR some modification specifically approved by
FHE.
The Future: It is the intent of FHE to expand the parameters of the
5H system - more support to events, larger value and number of prize
vouchers and other ideas we have not thought of - as the amount of
support to it and the product and customer base of the company
expands.
If you are interested in becoming a Fifth Horseman, write Jon at
joncleaves@.... Include your mailing address (and your city if
the mailing address does not make that clear) and a small blurb on
the gaming environment where you live, cons put on local game store,
etc.
Remember to read the Fifth Horseman Privilege section above - you
don't just get to be a 5H simply by asking.
Let slip the hounds!

JON & FHE,
That's an awful lot of rules for folks who are merely trying to improve our
numbers and FHE sales! It seems to me that this game is best propagated one
member at a time as these rules are not such that most would be willing or able
to pick up and play after the initial reading. We Warrior players must nurture
our converts over an extended amount of time because our preferred system is
complex (which is partly why we love it). And why do you limit it to one person
per municipality? It would seem that this would curtail many of the adherents in
the East where our numbers are perhaps greater. . . I'm sure there are more than
one in the same municipality(does this mean each city/town or metropolitan
area?) that wish to be a part of this grand scheme. As usual, I don't expect you
to respond to my questions, but I believe it is worth asking.

It *is* first come first served and no one in your area has volunteered. Do you
want it or not?

I am of course interested in this. First off, in the Warrior book it says
if you ever created a fifth horseman it would be me so this should be the
6th horseman program . Since you restrict it to one per area (for reasons
I totally understand and agree with), this area is more likely to be Patrick
Byrnes or Harlan Garrett who both already organize 2 tournies a year each.
I will continue to agresively recruit new players to my favorite game, I
just wont have the shirt .
