We had an awesome tourney yesterday Sept 25. 15mm Warrior with 1600 point lists
on a 4X6 board. 3 3.5 hour rounds with standard scoring and the Scott Holder
10% bonus method of quality of schedule.
18 people showed up for this event. We had entrants from New York, Florida,
Louisiana, Missouri (or maybe Kansas), and of course Texas. The quality of
sportsmanship was to me unparalleled. All I saw were smiles across all the
tables. I want to thank ALL who came and played, and especially my three
opponents who made the day fun for me. Steve Hollowell put so much fear into my
CINC that he actually fell off his elephant and was trampled to death right in
front of the whole army (which did not please them one bit!). 15 of the
entrants were NASAMW members and there were 17 copies of the Warrior Core rules,
and 72 list books in ownership (sorry - thats 5th horseman required data).
The results:
Dave Beeson 14.1 Later Crusader
Greg Regets 14.0 Italian Condotta
Ambrose Coddington 13.8 Han Chinese
Tim Brown 12.8 Macabean Jew
Kelly Wilkinson 12.5 Wallachian
Sean Scott 12.1 Anglo Norman
Steven Hollowell 10.1 Medival Spanish
Donald Coon 10.1 Ghaznavid
Chris Bump 9.8 Commagne
Dave Dietrich 9.7 Syracusan
Patrick Byrnes 9.3 Later Crusader
Duane Nagel 7.6 Palaeogan
Gilles Hudelot 7.2 Wallachian
Hans Dietrich 6.4 Macabean Jew
John Garlic 5.8 Late Hebrew
Andy Rogers 4.5 HYWE
Todd Varian 3.9 Berber
John Lloyd 3.8 EIR
Again a big thank you to all for making my day fun and easy. Thanks to Kelly
Wilkinson for prize support (he ALWAYS does this BTW), and thanks to FHE for
gift certificates. I had a blast guys!

Good stuff Don.
I am sorry this event is always such a bad weekend for us, or you would have
had an even bigger turn out I am sure.

Nice to the The Han Dynasty doing so well. Is there any chance the list
could be published here? I'd love to see it.

Three quick additions ...
First, to Big Dave for winning this thing. U 'da schiz boi!
Second to Ambrose, Tim and Steven, the three guys I was fortunate
enough to play ... all great guys and fine players. Ambrose and I has
three combats as I recall, that ended in mutual exhaustion on the
same bound. If the rounds were fifteen minutes longer, Tim probably
would have carved my army up like a turkey, and Steven and myself had
a great game of bumper-cars, using SHK's and "Moogs".
Lastly, thanks to Don and the Fort Worth guys for putting on a great
tournament. To say the sportsmenship was great is an understatement.
The only loud voices I heard all day, were people laughing.
Most fun I have had playing wargames, in years!

That may take some time. Ambrose was stranded here in Dallas due to the
hurricane sitting on top of his house. I just put him on a plane this Monday
morning and he is having to fly quite the circuitous route in order to get home.
All flights to Orlando out of DFW were canceled through tomorrow.
