Fprt Worth Wars hosted a 15mm 1600 point, 1 list 3 3.5 hr rounds tourney on
Saturday Sept 13. The comvention was very well attended, but the Warrior
tourney saw a small turnout. Due to the odd number of players, Patrick
Byrnes sat out. We had 7 entires, and 6 NASAMW members, but since Patrick
was one of the NASAMW members, we can not use it as an NICT qualifyer. For
the third year in a row, our hopes of growing FWW into a SW region tourney
that got the attention of the Warrior community at large has failed. That
is a shame as the locale puts it within striking distance (9 hour drive) of
20+ players. We will probably do it again next year, just with a much
lowered expectation. I still feel it has the potential to be an event that
gets large recognition. Sadly DBM outnumbered us 18-7 this year (we tied
them last year).
The standings were:
1st - Ghaznavid, Don Coon
2nd - Patrician Roman, Chris Bump
3rd - Sunyas Indian, Dave Dietrich
4th - Wallachian, Gilles Hudelot
5th - Medieval French, John Lloyd
6th - Later Hoplite Greek - Hanz Dietrich
Patrick Byrnes acted as judge, and lent aid to the newer players.
We attracted 2 new players in the area (one is actually from Terrell about
70 miles away) who both own the core rules.
Thanks to all who attended, especially those who drove in from out of town.

First of all ... congratulations to the victors.
I apologize for not being able to attend, but tournaments during
football season will always be difficult for me. Last season I was
able to attend, only because we had a bye that week.
Way back in the old Southwest Society of Ancients days, we always
tried to avoid tournaments during football season. This is Texas
after all, and by the time you eliminate people that are playing,
coaching, have children that are playing, have children that are
cheerleaders, or shelling out $$ to attend a college game, you have
largely reduced the number of available participants.
Once again ... congratulations to the victors!

Hi,
You can add me to your list of potential attendees in future, just didn't
have enough advance notice since found out late. I'm down in Rio Grande Valley.

I see your point. We do not have much control over the FWW convention
dates. We just ride our tourney with them. Hope next year is a bye week!

Anyone attending FWW for the Warrior tourney, please bring a 4 X 6 ground
cloth if you can. We are looking at 8-12 tables if all who have commited
can make it, and we only have 4-5 setups right now.
Don, it is totally ok to use this group to coordinate Warrior events!

Warrior - Main Hall Director is Donald Coon jjendon@...
We would like to invite you to a Warrior tournament at this years Fort Worth
Wars on Sept 25.
The tournament will be 15mm 1600 points on 4' X 6' boards with one FHE
approved list allowed. There will be 3 3.5 hour rounds. Terrain will be
selected by each player. We will be using order cards. Every attempt will
be made to avoid pairing competitors from the same geographical area.
Winners will be paired with winners in subsequent rounds. Sign up is at 7:30
AM on Saturday Sept 25. Round 1 will be from 8:00-11:30. Round 2 will be
from 12:30-4:00 and round 3 will be from 5:00-8:30. There is no cost to
enter other than that to get into the Con itself.
As always if we get 6 NASAMW memebers, this will be a NICT qualifier, and
if we get 8 owners of the Warrior rukebook, we will have FHE prize support
(gift certificates via the 5th horseman program).
