Ewan,
I enjoyed reading your comments on the lists. I even print out the lists and
look at their composition. Many people's lists reflect their playing style.
Some are adaptable to playing armies of multiple styles - Markowitz in
particular can pull this off well as can Tim Brown. While I am competant w/
different styles and armies I know that I thrive w/ regular armies, particularly
ones with missile weapons - Aztec, Khmer, 100 Year's War, etc...
I know that I'd get killed using Jake's Irish army, but I certainly wouldn't
want to face him regularly with it. I watched a few of his battles and his army
played real tough. We both know that often it's not the army, but the player we
worry about. I only worry about Seleucid when it is in the hands of a good
player. Otherwise it has too many problems and its morale can be exploited.
Damour is another example of a player, who regardless of the army, is dangerous;
scary to think that someone can make Irregular D troops dangerous on a
consistent basis :)
Looking at other people's lists is a good way to learn list composition and a
way to see how different people run their armies.
