This question is for those of you who have *not*, repeat *not* qualified for the
NICT this year. It has to do with the Theme and when it's scheduled (keeping in
mind that nothing will run alongside the Theme and that the theme will be a 1600
pt event).

The question is:
Would the Theme starting on Thu (instead of Friday as it has been done for 10+
years now) prevent you from participating?

One scheduling idea would be to kick off the theme at noon on Thu. There would
be two 4-hour rounds on Thu, then the third round would commence Friday morning
at 9am. To avoid overlap with the Mini, the latter would start at 2pm (later
than usual if it had started on Thu) and probably have a shorter time per round
(2.5 hours) in order to fit 3 games in during the day. Don't sweat the Mini
issue when answering this question, I'm primarily concerned whether or not we'd
effectively prevent people from playing in the Theme by starting it on Thu.

Respond to me *off list*, repeat *off list*. My email addy is
scottatdauphinehotel.com with the @ replacing the "at" in the address (I don't
want a hyperlink to appear on this group because I'll potentially be flooded
with spam).

Again, this question is for those of you who are *not* qualified for the NICT.
It might also help if you were actually planning on attending Hcon as well, no
"in theory" answers please. And please respond ASAP. Because Cold Wars was a
month later this year, I need to get the last of my Hcon scheduling issues
nailed down so that people can make plans.
