I've started planning Historicon and noticed that Later Hoplite Greek (list
17) is NOT on the theme. The theme is labelled as "Alexander and the
Successors" which suggests that it is intended to be a pure pike bash. But,
Hellenistic Greek (list 37) IS allowed in the theme BUT canNOT take any Pike
armed troops (i.e. it is an entirely hoplite based force).
Given that the Later Hoplite Greek lists runs to 275 BC and that the wars of
the successors were more or less over by 275, why is the Later Hoplite Greek
list not allowed in the theme? I'm just curious (playing Hellenistic Greek
is fine -- I just find the exclusion very odd).

***Jon, I've been checking the FHE website since the 11th (when Jake
indicated CW would be available to order), but I have yet to see it
offered. Is there another place (TT perhaps).

I have just been to our website and indeed it seems that there is trouble with
the sale link. I am on it.

Sigh, this theme has been listed for 5 years now.
We have had a seperate hoplite theme, *that's* why they weren't
listed and aren't going to be listed. At some point down the line,
we'll be doing another hoplite theme.

Please accept my humble apologies...
I have know about the theme for years, but I've only just gotten back into
Warrior in the last couple of years so I might have missed earlier
discussion. And, to the best of my knowledge the actual armies allowed
weren't listed anyway until after Cold Wars.
Anyway, I was just curious and, again, please accept my apologies.

Howdy.
If you go to www.nasamw.org and click on the
<http://www.nasamw.org/Themes_2003-2013.htm>Future Cold Wars & Historicon
Theme Events link you'll see various tournament themes for the next few years.
