The odds are 1 in 36. So a little less than 3% likelihood. Where the initial
mistake was made was the author assumed that the 3 units shooting each had to
roll an up 3. 3 consecutive up 3's is in fact a 1 in 46,656 chance. Of course
since all shooters at a singe target are combined into a single roll the odds of
rolling up 3 is 1 in 36.

stated at about 5% ( a little less than 1 in 20).

My brain screwed up. You do only roll one die for each shooting TARGET. My
bad, not anybody else's. Sorry.
