Hi all,

Just picked up my rules today. How nice to have an illustrated set
with nice illustrations written in American English!

I was never really able to learn 7th Edition; no one else I played
with played it. but the concepts really interested me, and so when I
heard about Warrior, I was happy to shell out my $16.

Have now had all of an hour to look through the rules, I realize I
will need to play them to find out.

Any FW learning-type games at Historicon [hint, hint]?

Another question. I suppose we use WRG lists until the new ones come
out. How are Polybian and Marian Romans organized? I like the
multiple rank rule - I hope it works!

How many stands to the usual Hastati and Princeps unit? At 50:1, I
presume 4 (1600 men) per line. Are these usually deployed in 1 line,
or 2?

With regard to the Marians, is there some sub unit, ie, half a
legion, that people commonly use? Q two stand cohort seems to small,
but 12 (half a legion?) seems a bit unweildy. So what do folks do?

Cheers,
Dave LYnch

>Not formally but I bet you could get either Jon or Ed Bernhart to play a game
or three while they are umping on Thu and Fri. Actually, that sounds ideal for
the ump, I mean you can get called away from your "game" and not really have it
bother you plus it gives the ump things to do in the meantime:)Smile:)

Another question. I suppose we use WRG lists until the new ones come
out.

>The "official" supercession list can be found at www.fourhorsementerprises.com.
If it's not been superceded, you can use any new/old WRG List, NASAMW Revisions,
and Book of Hosts.

>It's been played in a theme tourney before. BTW, if anybody wants to play
either of these lists at Hcon and would like to use the "list rules" for them,
it's okay by me but please doublecheck with Jon or Jake (Jon's running the Mini,
Jake the NICT/Open) first to let them know you'd like to do that.

>I'd run them in 4 or 6 element units. Probably depends on how you gear your
army. If you expect to fight pikemen, most people *still* run pike blocks at 4
stands. 6 stands of Hastati are better because of second bound overlap in
H-T-H.

With regard to the Marians, is there some sub unit, ie, half a
legion, that people commonly use? Q two stand cohort seems to small,

>I haven't seen these played since the last theme tournament in which they were
rather prominent. Todd K and Dave M ran some Poly/Marian list so might hav
something to add. I don't think they are organized terribly differently from
Poly to Marian.
