Re: Italian Condotta. FW list 31.

Hi Scott,

My question concerns Allies and minima.

The notes to the list states "If an Ally-general is used, he must
represent any of these named city-states ……… and brings the
respective 'marked items for that city-state' although minimums are
halved."

Ignoring Swiss, Free Company, and Albanian allies, the only minimums
on the list are:

Knights (Barbuta etc) – 4
Militia Pavasiers – 4 (if Militia used)
Stradiots – 6 (VG)

As VG cannot be taken as an ally, neither of the minima relate to a
specifically named city-state.

As the knights are a list minimum not relating to a specific city-
state, can the "parent" army and an ally take 4 elements of knights
between them and meet the list requirements?

Or does this mean that the "parent" army must take a minimum of 4
elements of knights, and the ally a minimum of 2, meaning 6 overall?

If the latter, does this mean that the "parent" army and the allied
contingent are each selected from the list separately and in their
own right, so may each take the maxima allowed, eg the "parent" army
may take up to 6 elements of mounted crossbow and the ally up to
another 6 elements?

Ian.
