Free Company English Men-at-Arms

Incosistency between lists (one of those...)

In the Italian Condotta list these are HK with the option to upgrade
any to SHK. The same troops in the actual Free Company list are EHK
with the option to upgrade to SHK.

The similar, though not same, troops in the HYW list are HK
shieldess with the option to upgrade to EHK/SHK shielded.

Setting the last aside except as a point of reference, shouldn't the
options for the Free COmpany list and COndotta list be the same?

Historically, they were generally noted (with exceptions of course)
for the poor quality of their equipment offset only by their
combat/campaign experience.

Seems to me the main list should be changed to read like the
Condotta list?

Never mind I see the change to the Condotta list.

Clears up the conflict. Unfortunately I think you went the wrong way
with this but its okay - from a game perspective maybe the EHK are
better anyhow. Just doesn't seem right historically to have them
better armored than their English-English counterparts.

But that is just my interp, and the inconsistency seems to be
cleared up. So never mind.

There is a clarification on the Condotta list. They should be listed as EHK.

No. I remember going thru this. I can't cite the reasons why off the top of my
head but will *try* to do so later.

Glad I could help, in a backhanded kind of way:)Smile:)

Gee, and I was still positively glowing from an un-caveated compliment from Ewan
about the FHE lists.
