Warrior Ancient and Medieval Rules

I've got both an Aztec and Tlax army unpainted. I bought them in the
old days before DBM and never saw a reason to paint them in that
system.

Anyway has anyone tried the knights 3 ranks deep with the first
element 2HCT,Jls. After first contact have your 1hcw,jls take over
using the list rule ability to freely swap ranks. This unit can't
skirmish, but should be the closest thing to a shock troop in the
army and might be easier to use than the Otomi. A few of these
massed in the right spot seems to have potential to me.
