I am confused, Ed. Is there some reason why you think troops can't do a left
face in Warrior?

Question to the list on changes in direction of a unit.
Older WRG rule sets allowed the facing of the unit to change, ie: a 2
deep line become a 2 figure wide column facing 90 degrees. 1/4 period
for reg inf , reg cav, irr lt cav, and others 1/2 period.
I agree, in general, with the premise with 7th that this produced much to
free and easy changes in direction of a command, giving table top battles
that had little look and feel for accounts of actual battles. I belive
that much of this unhistorical feel came from the 1000 ft general and not
the ability of troops to actually carry out the movement. But does not
totally eliminating changes in direction, ie: left face, not distort and
down grade the known superior historical battlefield maneuver of
Spartan, Greek pike, Roman inf, and the later European pike blocks?

Hi Jon,
Found the missing page. Did not see it under Tactical moves, missed the
section under Maneuver, was looking for "changing direction" as listed
in 7th. I thought it had been removed. Teach me to scroll to fast.
I like your layout much better than the 7th book, once I get used to the
different terms.
I remember to many arguments over a meaning of coma placement to miss the
condensed style of 7th. Getting rid of the long, single sentences makes
it so much easier to read. You had to really want to play WRG to slug
through the writing style. Very exact, but hard to read and put off many
new gamers.
Thanks,
Ed F
